Spotify reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of €4.969 billion, up 16% from a year earlier, as Premium subscribers rose to 306 million. The figures were released on October 22 in the company’s official Q3 shareholder deck.

Spotify growth and margins strengthened

Premium revenue rose 17% to €4.487 billion, supported by subscriber growth and a 9.3% increase in average revenue per user to €4.95. Ad-supported revenue increased 10%, though Spotify said music-ad pricing remained soft on a constant-currency basis.

Gross margin expanded 136 basis points to 33.0%. Operating income was €672 million, equivalent to a 13.5% margin, as lower-than-forecast marketing and personnel costs supported the result.

Cash generation gives Spotify more flexibility

Free cash flow reached €735 million for the quarter and €3.2 billion over the trailing 12 months. Spotify ended the period with €9.9 billion in cash, restricted cash and short-term investments, and said it had repurchased $1.1 billion of shares through October 21.

The combination of subscriber growth, margin expansion and cash generation strengthens Spotify’s capacity to fund product investment and shareholder returns. Related coverage includes the Netflix growth and margin outlook, Apple’s services earnings setup, and Nasdaq’s recurring-revenue test.
