MaxLinear revenue increased 72% from a year earlier to $218.1 million in the third quarter. The chipmaker said infrastructure revenue rose 210% as customers adopted its optical products for AI data centers.

MaxLinear revenue accelerates on optical AI demand

The company released the results on October 22, 2026, for the quarter ended September 30. GAAP gross margin increased to 58.7% from 56.9%, while diluted earnings reached $0.30 per share versus a $0.52 loss.

Non-GAAP diluted earnings rose to $0.62 per share from $0.14. Chief Executive Kishore Seendripu attributed the infrastructure gain to the ramp of the Keystone PAM4 digital signal processor and customer activity around 1.6-terabit Rushmore and Annapurna products, according to MaxLinear’s official results.

The optical connectivity increase adds another data point to the semiconductor cycle. TTM Technologies also reported AI-led growth, while Western Digital highlighted demand for AI storage. The businesses serve different parts of the infrastructure stack, so their growth rates are not directly comparable.

MaxLinear revenue outlook points to another sequential gain

MaxLinear guided fourth-quarter revenue to $240 million–$260 million. The midpoint, $250 million, would represent a 14.7% sequential increase from the third quarter. GAAP gross-margin guidance spans 58%–61%.

The company also expanded its revolving credit facility by $70 million to $200 million. Management said the additional capacity came through an amended agreement with Wells Fargo and other lenders.

Risks remain concentrated in customer qualification, hyperscale spending and program timing. MaxLinear also cited export controls, tariffs and competition among uncertainties. Those factors matter across the chip supply chain, including equipment makers such as Lam Research, which recently reported record revenue.

Investors will watch whether MaxLinear converts the product pipeline into sustained shipments while protecting margins. The company’s fourth-quarter range provides a measurable test after two consecutive quarters of rapid revenue expansion.
