Boston Beer revenue fell 3.2% to $520.1 million in the third quarter as lower shipment volume outweighed pricing and product-mix benefits. The brewer released the results on October 22, 2026, for the 13 weeks ended September 26.
Boston Beer revenue slips as core brand volumes weaken
Shipment volume was approximately 1.8 million barrels. Declines in Twisted Tea, Truly and Samuel Adams offset growth from Sun Cruiser and Angry Orchard, according to the company’s official earnings release.
GAAP diluted earnings reached $4.21 per share, including $0.16 of litigation expense. Non-GAAP diluted earnings were $4.37. Investors comparing those figures should separate recurring operations from adjustments, as explained in this guide to reading an earnings report.

The volume pressure fits a mixed consumer backdrop. Another consumer company, Hasbro, reported stronger third-quarter revenue, underscoring how demand trends vary by category. Boston Beer said distributor inventories averaged about four weeks, down from four and a half weeks a year earlier.
Boston Beer revenue outlook balances margins and weak demand
Boston Beer lifted the low end of its full-year gross-margin forecast to 49%, leaving the upper end at 50%. It also narrowed non-GAAP earnings guidance to $9.00–$10.50 per share from $8.50–$10.50.
Projected tariff costs declined to $18 million–$22 million from $20 million–$30 million. However, the company still expects full-year depletions and shipments to fall by a mid-single-digit percentage. That outlook keeps pricing power, freight costs and consumer demand central to the fourth-quarter setup.
The company ended September with $308.1 million in cash and no debt. It repurchased $79.5 million of shares through October 16. Interest-rate conditions discussed ahead of the Federal Reserve’s October meeting may also shape consumer spending and valuation expectations, but Boston Beer’s near-term result depends primarily on volume stabilization and margin execution.
