The Physical AI Growth Lab launched on October 22 as an equity-free accelerator for robotics and industrial AI startups. UnternehmerTUM Accelerator, Microsoft, Infineon and Nvidia designed the program to help young companies reach commercial scale.
The announcement gives selected teams access to cloud computing, simulation software and industrial hardware. It also connects applicants with enterprise customers, mentors and investors.
What the Physical AI Growth Lab offers
The Physical AI Growth Lab plans to select between 10 and 15 startups. Eligible companies must be based in Europe, the Middle East and Africa or build products for that region.
Applicants need a working prototype or minimum viable product and at least one technical co-founder. Teams can have no more than 20 employees and must have been founded within the past three years.
Microsoft will provide startup benefits that include $350,000 in Azure credits. Nvidia will offer its software development kits, open models and Inception program benefits.
Infineon will contribute access to semiconductors, microcontrollers, sensors and connectivity products. UnternehmerTUM said participants will also reach more than 170 mentors and over 200 investors.
Physical AI Growth Lab dates and eligibility
The partners announced the lab on October 22, 2026, while applications are open through November 13. The program itself will run from January through April 2027.
Sessions will use a hybrid format with some in-person work in Munich. The timeline separates the announcement, application deadline and accelerator period for founders evaluating the opportunity.
Microsoft detailed the terms in its official launch announcement. The release describes physical AI as the combination of foundation models, simulation and robotics in machines and industrial processes.
Why the accelerator matters for AI markets
The program brings cloud infrastructure, chips, sensors and deployment tools into one commercial pathway. That combination may reduce the time between a working prototype and a customer-ready industrial system.
The launch follows expanding investment across the AI stack. Fusion Market News recently covered MaxLinear’s AI infrastructure growth and Nokia’s doubling AI sales.
Software tools remain part of the same investment cycle. OpenAI’s new Decisions API performance claims show how vendors are competing on speed as well as access.
The lab does not guarantee funding or commercial success for selected teams. Its equity-free structure lets founders use partner resources without giving the accelerator an ownership stake.
