Cash provided by operating activities totaled $192 million, up 39% year over year, while capital spending was $45 million. The company returned $47 million to shareholders through $19 million of dividends and $28 million of share repurchases, adding another capital-allocation angle to the broader energy earnings picture.

Acquisition and debt moves shape the outlook

Weatherford completed its acquisition of NCS Multistage during the quarter, expanding its completions and reservoir-diagnostics portfolio. It also issued notice after quarter-end to redeem the remaining $236 million principal amount of its 8.625% senior notes due 2030, a move intended to reduce interest expense and improve future free-cash-flow conversion.

Shareholders approved a redomestication to Delaware that Weatherford estimates could generate $20 million to $30 million of annual cash savings beginning in 2027, subject to regulatory and court approvals. Those savings and debt reduction may help offset the revenue pressure also visible in Halliburton’s drilling update, while oil-market volatility remains a relevant backdrop in the IEA oil-stock release analysis.
