OpenAI and Oracle are expanding their partnership to bring Oracle applications and business data into ChatGPT, giving enterprise users a single place to find information and complete approved workflows. The companies announced the plan on October 27, 2026, separately from the future rollout dates for the products described.
What OpenAI and Oracle announced
OpenAI said Oracle is developing Oracle AI Workspace for ChatGPT, with integrations intended to connect finance, procurement, planning and other enterprise applications. The planned experience will use each organization’s existing permissions and approval controls rather than offering unrestricted access to company data.
Oracle also introduced an AI Security Mesh designed to find and fix vulnerabilities with OpenAI cyber models, an AI SMB Bundle combining ChatGPT Business and Codex with Oracle applications and recurring cloud credits, and an App Composer for building applications tied to approved Oracle workflows. U.S. Oracle customers can purchase the OpenAI API, Codex and ChatGPT Work through Oracle Marketplace using eligible Oracle Universal Credits.
Why the enterprise AI market is watching
The announcement moves the partnership beyond model access and into everyday business software. That direction matters because enterprise AI adoption increasingly depends on identity, permissions and reliable access to company systems, not only model capability. It also follows broader efforts to connect AI products with established cloud and software ecosystems, including recent developments around OpenAI’s web-training preferences and strong cloud growth reported by Alphabet.
OpenAI said Oracle’s recruiting team already uses ChatGPT Work for research that previously took two to four days and now takes 15 to 20 minutes to prepare. That example is supplied by the companies and does not establish the same productivity gain for every customer, but it shows the type of measurable workflow improvement they want the new integrations to support.
What happens next
OpenAI and Oracle did not publish a general-availability date for AI Workspace, Security Mesh, the SMB Bundle or App Composer. Customers will need to evaluate how each product handles data access, approvals, cybersecurity testing and procurement before deployment.
Investors will also watch whether the partnership produces greater use of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and OpenAI’s business products. The competitive backdrop includes Microsoft’s continuing cloud and AI expansion, highlighted by its recent Azure growth results, while Oracle is positioning its installed application base as a route for governed AI adoption.
