Utility Results Show Mixed Regional Performance

ComEd contributed $412 million in adjusted earnings, up from $373 million, while BGE increased to $119 million from $82 million. PHI rose to $320 million from $290 million. PECO was the exception, falling to $167 million from $250 million.

Those regional differences show why investors should look beyond the consolidated per-share figure. Regulatory timing, weather and operating costs can produce different quarterly paths across utility territories. The pattern also echoes the importance of regulated infrastructure spending discussed in Fusion Market News coverage of Forum Energy’s earnings outlook and American Tower’s data-center strategy.

What the Narrower Outlook Means

Management narrowed its 2026 adjusted operating EPS guidance to $2.85–$2.91. Exelon also maintained its expectation for long-term earnings growth near the top of a 5%–7% range, using 2024 adjusted EPS of $2.50 as the base.

The narrower range reduces uncertainty around the current year but does not remove financing or regulatory risk. Interest-rate conditions remain relevant for capital-intensive utilities, as outlined in Fusion Market News coverage of the Federal Reserve’s latest rate decision. Exelon also declared a $0.42 quarterly dividend, payable December 15 to shareholders of record on December 4.

All figures come from Exelon’s official third-quarter results. Adjusted measures exclude items the company says are not representative of ongoing operations and should be read alongside GAAP results.
