Elevance Health earnings improved in the third quarter of 2026 as adjusted diluted EPS reached $6.99. Operating revenue rose 0.7% to $50.4 billion, while the insurer raised its full-year guidance.

Elevance Health earnings benefit from lower medical costs

Operating revenue increased by $0.4 billion from the prior-year quarter. Higher premium yields, CarelonRx product revenue and service fees offset lower membership in several risk businesses.

The benefit expense ratio declined to 90.6% from 91.3%. A lower ratio means medical claims consumed a smaller share of premium revenue.
