Netflix earnings arrive Tuesday, October 20, with investors focused on whether revenue growth can keep supporting a high operating margin. The company will post results at about 1:01 p.m. Pacific Time, followed by a management interview at 1:45 p.m.
Netflix Earnings Arrive October 20
Netflix said it will publish its third-quarter financial statements and business outlook on its investor relations site. Co-CEOs Greg Peters and Ted Sarandos will join CFO Spence Neumann and finance executive Spencer Wang for the video interview.
The timing matters because the release follows the regular U.S. session. Investors will therefore process the numbers alongside management’s explanation of subscriber engagement, advertising and content performance.
The scheduled event date is October 20. The announcement itself was published September 14, so those dates should not be confused.
Q2 Sets the Benchmark
Netflix reported $12.56 billion in second-quarter revenue, up 13% from a year earlier. Operating income reached $4.19 billion, an 11% increase, while net income rose 9% to $3.40 billion.
The company’s operating margin slipped to 33.4% from 34.1%. That 0.7-percentage-point decline makes margin direction an important part of the third-quarter discussion.
What Investors Should Watch
Revenue quality is the first test. Netflix attributed second-quarter growth to membership gains, price increases and higher advertising revenue. Investors will want to see whether those drivers remained balanced.
Margins are the second test. Content amortization and investment in technology rose in the second quarter. Any change in spending plans could affect expectations for 2027 cash generation.
The outlook is the third test. Management’s fourth-quarter guidance will cover the important holiday period and will shape comparisons with other large technology and consumer platforms. Recent Fusion coverage has examined Amazon’s earnings setup, Apple’s earnings outlook and Microsoft’s earnings expectations.
