Lazard reported third-quarter 2026 results on October 22 for the quarter ended September 30, with higher revenue across financial advisory and asset management. The investment bank’s profit declined from a year earlier even as advisory revenue reached a third-quarter record.

Lazard Earnings Lift Net Revenue 9%

Lazard’s quarterly revenue growth reflected gains in both of its main operating businesses. Adjusted earnings were $0.36 per share, down from $0.56 a year earlier, according to the company’s results filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The report adds another data point to a mixed earnings season in which stronger sales have not always produced higher profit. Fusion Market News recently examined that contrast in American Express revenue and earnings guidance.

Advisory and Asset Management Revenue Rise

Financial advisory revenue reached $470 million, a third-quarter record and a 10% increase from the prior-year period. Asset management revenue rose to $357 million as average assets under management increased 11% to $287 billion.

Ending assets under management totaled $284 billion, up 7% from a year earlier. The asset-management result complements recent coverage of income-focused financial companies, including Popular’s earnings and dividend update.

Profit Falls Despite Revenue Growth

GAAP net income declined to $29 million from $72 million, while diluted earnings per share fell to $0.26 from $0.65. On an adjusted basis, net income decreased 35% to $40 million.

Lazard returned $88 million to shareholders during the quarter and declared a $0.50 quarterly dividend.
