Solana payments accounted for 76% of x402 agent transactions during a four-week measurement period, according to a Solana Foundation review published October 9, 2026. The network also ended September with record stablecoin supply and higher active-address counts.
Solana payments lead measured x402 activity
The Solana Foundation’s September payments review counted 23.2 million x402 transactions on Solana between August 22 and September 19. The next-largest network handled 3.39 million during the same period, while Solana processed 1.81 million agent payments on September 2 alone.
x402 is designed for machine-to-machine payments over web infrastructure. The activity gives context to recent products such as Ankr’s USDC payment access for AI agents, although protocol transaction counts do not equal payment value or revenue.

Stablecoin supply reaches $17.3 billion
Solana’s stablecoin supply reached $17.3 billion on September 25. Daily active stablecoin addresses climbed to 888,000 from 333,000 a year earlier, a 269% increase, while the network recorded 420 million USDC transactions during the month.
The Foundation also said 6.2 million people sent USDC on Solana over 30 days, representing 42% of USDC senders across networks. Those figures complement consumer distribution plans such as Samsung Wallet’s planned USDC transfers and the broader economics of USDC distribution. They remain network-activity measures, not proof that every transaction reflects final consumer demand.
