The KuCoin STG merge process has closed Stargate Finance trading and withdrawals before the exchange converts user balances into LayerZero’s ZRO token. KuCoin says the conversion will use a fixed ratio of 1 STG to 0.08634 ZRO and that it will announce completion separately.

KuCoin STG merge closes the old market

KuCoin detailed the timetable in an October 9 support notice. It delisted STG trading bots at 05:00 UTC on October 10, closed STG trading at 09:00 UTC and disabled withdrawals one hour later.

The exchange said it will automatically handle the conversion for STG held in KuCoin accounts. Users do not need to execute a separate on-chain swap for those balances, but KuCoin has not yet said in that notice when converted ZRO will be credited.

KuCoin also stated that STG services will not reopen after the merge. Existing LayerZero ZRO services are unaffected, which means the change removes the old exchange market rather than suspending the destination asset.

How the STG-to-ZRO ratio works

The fixed conversion ratio is 1 STG for 0.08634 ZRO. A user with 1,000 eligible STG would therefore receive 86.34 ZRO, subject to the exchange’s balance snapshot, eligibility rules and final distribution process.

The ratio traces back to the LayerZero Foundation acquisition proposal published on August 10, 2025. That proposal described the same ratio, and an official Binance completion notice on October 7 independently reported it when that exchange finished its own conversion.

The proposal’s historical valuation inputs should not be treated as current market prices. The operative figure for holders is the token quantity ratio, while the eventual market value depends on ZRO’s price and available liquidity after distribution.

What holders should check next

KuCoin users should wait for the exchange’s completion announcement and then verify the credited ZRO quantity against the published ratio. They should also retain account records in case balances held in open orders, bots or unsupported account types require reconciliation.

The transaction fits a broader pattern in which cross-chain projects simplify governance and liquidity around one asset. Readers can review Fusion Market News explainers on Ethereum Layer 2 networks, smart contracts and European stablecoin regulation for related infrastructure and policy context.

The remaining operational risk is timing: closing STG services prevents trading on KuCoin before users receive the replacement asset. Until the exchange confirms distribution, holders should distinguish an announced conversion ratio from a completed account credit.
