The company released the results on October 26 for the quarter ended September 30. Revenue rose 22% from $178.5 million a year earlier and exceeded Rambus’s $210 million to $216 million guidance range.

AI systems drive demand for memory products

Rambus said it expanded products for next-generation AI systems, including power-management technology for LPDDR6 SOCAMM2 memory and data-center Root of Trust security intellectual property.

The company’s results connect memory demand with the broader AI infrastructure cycle. Fusion has also covered NVIDIA’s AI-RAN partnership with Nokia and Cadence’s raised outlook for chip-design software.

Fourth-quarter guidance points to further growth

Rambus expects fourth-quarter revenue of $227 million to $233 million. The company projected product revenue of $127 million to $133 million, royalties of $68 million to $74 million and GAAP diluted EPS of $0.68 to $0.76.

Cash, equivalents and marketable securities totaled $776.9 million at September 30. The balance declined by $48 million from June because Rambus spent $135.4 million on share repurchases and $11.2 million on capital expenditure, partly offset by operating cash flow.

Guidance still carries execution risk

Rambus said the outlook depends partly on signing customer agreements for product sales and licensing. Demand, product mix, customer timing and semiconductor-cycle conditions can change reported results.

The company’s operating update follows other AI-linked earnings developments, including Dover’s growth in AI and power markets.
