Metaplanet repaid its 20th Series of Ordinary Bonds in full before maturity, using company funds to retire ¥8 billion of zero-coupon debt. The November 2 disclosure also restored an earlier allocation for planned Bitcoin purchases under its 27th Series of Stock Acquisition Rights.

The Metaplanet bond redemption occurred on the same date as the announcement. The bonds had been scheduled to mature on April 23, 2027, so the event date and publication date should not be confused with the original contractual deadline.

Metaplanet Bond Redemption Changes the Funding Plan

Metaplanet issued the bonds to EVO FUND in April to secure funds before proceeds arrived from its stock acquisition rights. The company originally expected to use bond proceeds for Bitcoin purchases and later direct ¥8 billion from warrant exercises toward repaying the debt.

Early repayment removed that future use. Metaplanet therefore reversed the April adjustment and restored the warrant proceeds to their earlier purposes. The company said the bond carried no interest and expected only a minor effect on consolidated results for the year ending December 2026.

The transaction differs from a token recovery or exchange reserve update. Fusion Market News previously reported that Binance replenished most assets lost in its October breach, while Metaplanet’s action concerns corporate financing and treasury allocation.

Bitcoin Purchase Allocation Returns to ¥33.422 Billion

Metaplanet restored the planned allocation for Bitcoin purchases from ¥25.422 billion to ¥33.422 billion. It kept a separate ¥3.714 billion allocation for its Bitcoin income-generation business, bringing the stated uses of proceeds to ¥37.135 billion through April 2028.

Those figures describe planned uses of funds from stock acquisition rights. They do not show that Metaplanet bought ¥8 billion of Bitcoin on November 2, and the disclosure did not report a new acquisition amount, purchase price or updated Bitcoin balance.

That distinction matters when reading corporate treasury updates. Genius Group’s recent operating report explicitly excluded Bitcoin treasury gains and financing costs, illustrating why operating results, funding plans and asset purchases should be analyzed separately.

What Investors Should Watch Next

The next measurable developments are warrant exercises, cash deployment and any separate notice confirming Bitcoin purchases. Investors should also watch whether early debt repayment changes liquidity, because restoring an allocation does not guarantee that every planned purchase will occur on the original timetable.

Metaplanet said the proceeds change would not affect its 2026 consolidated forecast. Future disclosures could still alter timing or amounts if market conditions, warrant exercises or treasury priorities change.

The financing also sits within a wider shift toward digital-asset-linked securities. Mirae Asset’s tokenized notes issuance used blockchain distribution for conventional debt, while Metaplanet is using traditional bonds and equity-linked warrants to support a Bitcoin treasury strategy.
