The High Tide Chestermere acquisition added an operating cannabis store to the company’s Canna Cabana network for $670,000 in cash. The transaction closed on October 8 and was announced on October 9, bringing the company’s Canadian store count to 234.
High Tide Chestermere acquisition adds an operating store
High Tide disclosed the transaction in an October 9 company release filed with the SEC. The acquired store is located at 100 Rainbow Road in Chestermere, Alberta, and the purchase was an arm’s-length cash transaction.
The store was already operating when the deal closed, distinguishing it from a new-location buildout. High Tide said it will rebrand the site under Canna Cabana, its discount-club retail banner.
The acquisition raised Canna Cabana’s footprint to 234 stores across Canada, including 93 in Alberta. Store count alone does not determine profitability, so the location’s sales, labor costs and integration performance remain relevant after rebranding.
Purchase multiple depends on adjusted EBITDA
High Tide said the $670,000 purchase price represented 2.1 times the store’s annualized adjusted EBITDA. The company calculated the approximately $316,000 figure from the three months ended August 31, 2026 rather than a full audited year.
Annualizing a short period assumes recent performance continues, while adjusted EBITDA excludes items management does not treat as part of recurring operations. Investors should therefore separate the stated transaction multiple from a verified future earnings outcome.

What investors should monitor after rebranding
The company emphasized the store’s visibility, surrounding residential areas and nearby daily-needs retailers. Those location claims come from management and should be tested against future store economics, customer retention and any rebranding costs.
High Tide’s official press-release archive lists the October 9 announcement and provides a place to track later updates. The company also said required regulatory approvals and authorizations must be maintained as the location begins operating under the Canna Cabana brand.

The completed purchase adds a revenue-producing location immediately, yet its contribution will depend on post-close sales and margins. Future company filings should show whether the reported acquisition multiple translated into durable cash returns.
