AngioDynamics earnings for the quarter ended Aug. 31 showed sales rising 6.9% to $80.9 million as its higher-growth Med Tech segment outpaced the broader business. The vascular-device maker also reiterated its fiscal 2027 outlook while preparing for a chief executive transition in November.

Key Insights

  • Med Tech sales increased 13.2% to $39.9 million, led by double-digit growth in Auryon and NanoKnife.
  • Adjusted EBITDA rose to $5.0 million from $2.2 million, while the GAAP net loss narrowed to $7.1 million.
  • Management kept its fiscal 2027 sales outlook at $336 million to $341 million despite a softer second-half margin expectation.

The Oct. 8 report gives investors a fresh read on whether AngioDynamics can shift its revenue mix toward faster-growing platforms without losing financial discipline. It also separates this story from recent index and trial catalysts covered in Moderna’s Nasdaq-100 entry and Pulse Biosciences’ heart-study milestone.

AngioDynamics Earnings Put Med Tech at the Center

AngioDynamics reported first-quarter net sales of $80.915 million, up from $75.711 million a year earlier. Med Tech revenue reached $39.916 million, a 13.2% increase, while Med Device sales grew 1.4% to $40.999 million.

Auryon sales rose 14.7% to $18.9 million, and NanoKnife revenue climbed 29.0% to $8.3 million. AlphaVac sales increased 37.4%, helping offset a 5.9% year-over-year decline in AngioVac.

Margins Improve, but Cash Use Remains a Check

GAAP gross margin expanded to 59.4% from 55.3%, helped by pricing, a richer Med Tech mix and tariff refunds. Excluding the refund benefit, management said gross margin would have been 57.8%, and it expects the measure to run lower in the second half of the fiscal year.

The GAAP net loss narrowed to $7.1 million, or $0.17 per share, from $10.9 million, or $0.26 per share. Adjusted EBITDA increased to $5.0 million from $2.2 million, although operations used $15.3 million of cash and quarter-end cash fell to $34.0 million on a debt-free balance sheet.

Guidance and CEO Transition Define the Next Test

AngioDynamics maintained fiscal 2027 guidance for $336 million to $341 million in net sales, 12% to 15% Med Tech growth and adjusted EBITDA of $13 million to $16 million. The reiterated range matters because investors are also parsing a busy earnings calendar, including the themes in our Delta earnings preview.

Eric Honroth is scheduled to become president and chief executive on Nov. 2, succeeding retiring CEO Jim Clemmer, who will remain an executive adviser during the handoff. The next observable catalyst is whether Honroth preserves the Med Tech growth cadence while management converts the stronger margin profile into steadier cash generation.
